As a UNC Chapel Hill alum, I found myself heading to Clemson to watch the Carolina-Clemson game and, more importantly, see my nephew, who is a member of the Clemson marching band. It was a fun family rivalry, lots of school spirit, and a wonderful opportunity to spend time together even though my Tarheels lost.
I used one-inch scraps from the Timeless Christmas 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper to make today’s scrap card. I used 5 strips and cut them different lengths and then banner cut the ends. These were added to a piece of Peaceful Pine Cardstock that measures 5 1/4″ x 4″ and then adhered to a Poppy Parade card base.
I’ve been having so much fun creating with the Timeless Christmas Suite this week, and I’m not ready to put it away just yet! Here is another layout and I’ve added the Swirls of Magic Embossing Folder to add a little more texture to the card.
Supplies and Measurements:
· Poppy Parade Cardstock – 8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼” (card base); scraps to cut 3 of the smallest rectangles from the Scalloped Christmas Cheer Dies
· Basic White Cardstock – 4” x ½”, 5 1/4” x 4”
· Timeless Christmas 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper – 5 ¼” x 4”
· Timeless Metallic 12” x 12” Specialty Designer Series Paper – 4” x 1”
· Swirls of Magic Embossing Folder
· Scalloped Christmas Cheer Photopolymer Stamp Set
So, let’s kick of the week with a little Christmas card inspiration! I’m using a simple card template and the paper and stamps from the Timeless Christmas Suite Collection to show how a great layout can make creating a card quick and easy. I tweaked a few of the dimensions and shapes to incorporate the pennants on this card.
Template Measurements:
· Basic White Cardstock – 8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼” (cardbase); 3 ¾” x 1”
· Basic Black Cardstock – 5 ¼” x 4”
· Basic Gray Cardstock – 3 ¾” x 1 1/8” (4 pieces)
During this approximately 1 to just a little over an hour virtual event, we’ll create 3 fun cards or projects together. I have created a special Facebook group just for this occasion. You’ll receive project PDFs for each project so you can follow along during the event and have the instructions to refer back to afterward. I’ll also share tips and encouragement along the way to help you feel comfortable getting started with card making.
