MOTIVATION MONDAY

Need a little creative motivation to start your week? Let’s keep it simple, pretty, and FUN! Today I’m pairing a simple card template with the gorgeous Painted Patch Suite Collection to create a that comes together in just a few easy steps! I used the Designer Series Paper and a cut greeting and added a few colored dots. This is a great reminder that you don’t need a complicated design to create something special. Sometimes a simple template + beautiful products = the perfect card!

Template measurements:

Basic White Cardstock – 8 ½ ” x 5 ½ “, scored at 4 ¼ ” (cardbase)
Basic Black Cardstock – 5 ½ ” x 3 “
Basic Gray Cardstock – 5 ” x 2 ¾ “

Sometimes the best way to get your creativity flowing is to start with a card template! A simple layout gives you a starting point, and then you can make it your own with the colors, papers, stamps, and embellishments you love. Remember, the shapes on a card template are just place holders. You can change the size and shapes to create endless cards.

For this week’s Motivation Monday card, I paired a card template with the Fun for Fall Bundle to make a whimsical card.

The great thing about using a template is that you can use the same layout over and over again and get a completely different look just by changing the products you use. It’s perfect when you want to make a beautiful card without spending a lot of time figuring out the design.

So grab your favorite card template, pull out your Fun for Fall Bundle, and let’s get creating!

Shadow Box Cards

Shadowbox cards are such a fun way to add dimension and depth to your cards, and they look much more complicated to make than they actually are! I made the one on the left with the Violet Dreams Suite Collection and promised to make a tutorial to show you how easy this card really is to make. I thought it would be fun to kick of this week by showing you how to make it with this week’s product showcase. I’ll be showing you step-by-step how to create this beautiful fall design using the Fun for Fall Bundle.

Who says scraps have to go to waste?

For this card, I used leftover pieces of the Violet Dreams 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper and cut them into ½” strips. I arranged the strips to create a fun, colorful background that really showcases all the beautiful patterns in the paper.

I also had a leftover die-cut oval from another card I made earlier this week, so I put it to good use as the focal point! I added a Fresh Freesia cardstock circle with the “Sending Love” sentiment, along with a pretty bow for the finishing touch.

The Gorgeous Grape card base ties all the colors together beautifully.

I love when leftover pieces from one project can become the inspiration for another!

This is a soft, floral card featuring a scalloped oval frame, hand-colored flowers, and a pretty satin ribbon.

· Stampin Blends – Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green

· Beautiful Pattern 3D Embossing Folder – this one has retired but you can substitute another embossing folder to give some texture to your card or skip the embossing if you choose
