TIME SAVING AND ORGANIZATIONAL IDEA

One of the best ways to make card making more enjoyable is to look for small ways to save time. Spend a little time preparing supplies in advance by cutting cardstock layers, organizing scraps by color or size, or stamping a few basic greetings to keep on hand. These simple tasks may only take a few minutes, but they can make creating cards much faster and less stressful when inspiration strikes. Instead of stopping to measure and cut every piece, you’ll be ready to focus on the fun part—designing and creating beautiful handmade cards.  Here’s a video explaining something that I do to save me time and provides organization.

MOTIVATION MONDAY

Sometimes the best inspiration comes from keeping it simple! Today’s card was created using a card template, beautiful black-and-white designer series paper, and a greeting from an ephemera pack—no stamping required!

A simple layout takes the guesswork out of designing, making it easy to create a polished, elegant card in just a few minutes. Whether you’re short on time, new to card making, or just want a relaxing creative session, this is proof that beautiful handmade cards don’t have to be complicated.

Supplies and Measurements:

·       Thick Basic White Cardstock – 8 ½ “ x 5 ½ “, scored at 4 ¼ “ (cardbase)

·       Basic Black Cardstock – 5 ¼ “ x 4 “

·       Basic Gray Cardstock – 3 “ x 2 ¾ “

·       Gray Granite Cardstock – 3 ¾ “ x 2 ½ “

SCRAP CARD SATURDAY

✂️ It’s Scrap Card Saturday! ✂️

Don’t let those beautiful paper scraps go to waste! Some of my favorite cards have started with leftover pieces sitting on my craft table. A few strips, a handful of scraps, and a little creativity can become something truly beautiful.

Today, challenge yourself to use what you already have and see what you can create!

I used leftover scraps from Valley in Bloom DSP from cards I’ve been working on this week.  I cut them down into 1/2 scraps and then tore the ends of the strips.

Supplies and Measurements:

·       Granny Apple Green Cardstock – 8 ½ “ x 5 ½ “, scored at 4 ¼ “ (cardbase)

·       Coastal Cabana Cardstock –

A card template is a wonderful starting point when you’re looking for inspiration. Instead of wondering where to place each element, the template provides a basic layout that helps you focus on choosing colors, papers, stamps, and embellishments. ANOTHER CARD FOR SIMPLE CARDMAKING WEEK

One of my favorite ways to create beautiful SIP (Stamps, Ink, and Paper) cards is by stamping directly onto colored cardstock.

When you start with a colored card base, the paper does some of the design work for you! A simple stamped image in black, white, or a coordinating ink color can create an elegant card with very little effort. Add a sentiment, and you’re done!

Colored cardstock adds depth, contrast, and personality without needing layers, embellishments, or specialty techniques. Whether you choose soft pastels for a delicate look or rich, bold colors for drama, the results are always stunning.

SIP cards prove that you don’t need a lot of supplies to create something special. Sometimes the simplest combinations create the most beautiful cards.

Supplies and Measurements:

·       Soft Sea Foam Cardstock – 8 ½ “ x 5 ½ “, scored at 4 ¼ “ (cardbase)

·       Flirty Flamingo Cardstock – 2 ¾ “ x 1 ¾ “

·       Basic White Cardstock – 3” x 2 “, 5 ¼ “ x 4 “

·       Ink Pads – Soft Sea Foam, Basic Black Hybrid
